QuintessenceLabs strengthens board through appointment of former Westpac executive

March 30, 2015 – Canberra, Australia
QuintessenceLabs announced today that Jon Nicholson, a former Westpac executive, has joined its board of
directors, effective March 1 2015, taking the number of board members at QuintessenceLabs to four. Jon brings to
the board a tremendous breadth of experience in banking, which will be very valuable to support QuintessenceLabs’
business growth in that sector.

Jon was the Chief Strategy Officer for the Westpac Banking Corporation for eight years, responsible for Strategy and
M&A across the Westpac Group. Westpac is the second largest bank in Australia, and one of Australia’s “Big Four”.
Jon came to Westpac from Boston Consulting Group, where he was a senior partner for many years, responsible for
the Asian and Pacific Financial Services practice. Prior to that, he was the Senior Private Secretary to the Prime
Minister of Australia.

Jon continues to serve as Chairman of the Westpac Foundation, which is the bank’s major philanthropic vehicle. He
is also a Director of the Cape York Partnership and the Westpac Bicentennial Foundation.

Dr Peter Shergold, Chair of QuintessenceLabs, strongly welcomed the appointment: “Jon’s extensive experience,
strategic insight and integrity will add great value to Board discussions. His understanding of our customers’
perspective will be particularly useful.”

“QuintessenceLabs is one of Australia’s most exciting, genuinely science based emerging companies. It is providing
highly innovative solutions in cybersecurity, one of the largest and fastest growing challenges in the on-line and
mobile world. I am delighted to be joining the Board”, said Jon.
