For several years, the UK Department for International Trade (DIT)’s Tech Rocketship Awards have helped many “scale-up” technology companies gain a foothold in Britain and Northern Ireland. 2018 was the first time the awards were made available for companies in Australia and New Zealand, and we’re excited to announce that QuintessenceLabs was one of nine category winners out of a total of 200, winning the award in the category of Digital Economy & Security!

The Tech Rocketship Awards were open to established Australian and New Zealand companies that deliver the best technology-led solutions across a wide spectrum of industries and are ready to go global. The winners have earned a place on a specially curated trip to the UK in February 2019 to supercharge their UK expansion plans. For QuintessenceLabs, the program will ultimately lead to greater opportunities to meet, learn, and explore with UK businesses seeking cybersecurity solutions. And Tech Rocketship can even help “on the ground,” with assistance in the legal process of setting up a UK office that should only streamline our expansion plans.

It was happy coincidence that Tech Rocketship’s opening to ANZ firms aligned with our recent plans to establish a sales presence in the UK to help build our customer base there. Now, we’re extra confident we can scale up more efficiently with these benefits at hand.

Our current business efforts in Australia and the U.S. have proven fruitful, but there’s plenty more potential elsewhere in the Western world and in the security, fintech and other industries that we believe should learn more about quantum enhancement and staying resilient for the future. With lingering concerns after the enaction of GDPR, we believe data privacy and protection will always be on the minds of enterprises, government bodies, and other large organizations.

Our thanks to the DIT and the Australian British Chamber of Commerce for recognizing our potential! We’re looking forward to a bright future in the UK.
