Bill Bartee is a co-founder and Managing Director of Main Sequence Ventures. Prior to Main Sequence, Bill co-founded Blackbird Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on investing in the best global tech start-ups being formed in Australia, where he was one of three General Partners and an Investment Committee member. Bill is also co-founder of Southern Cross Venture Partners, where he focused on early-stage software, security, and internet companies. Prior to moving to Australia, Bill had 12 years of research, operational, and entrepreneurial experience in the United States. Bill earned a Bachelor of Science, MBA, and Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.

Bill is passionate about breakthrough, science-based ideas that leapfrog today’s solutions, including quantum technologies, healthcare, AI, chemistry, and synthetic biology where rapid progress is being made.
