PKWARE and QuintessenceLabs Announce Strategic Partnership to Create Next-Gen Crypto Solution
Integration Benefits Customers with Strengthened Solution in Key Management
and Control of Data-Security Policy
MILWAUKEE and SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 27, 2016 – PKWARE, a global leader in encryption software, and QuintessenceLabs, the leader in quantum cybersecurity, today announced a strategic partnership to create an enhanced encryption solution, offering unique key management capabilities and control of data-security policies for global enterprises and government organizations.
QuintessenceLabs’ Trusted Security Foundation will complement PKWARE’s Smartcrypt by generating high-speed, true random keys from an embedded quantum source. The integrated solution will manage flexible object and usage policies for enforcement by Smartcrypt and provide a secure hardware environment.
Random numbers are the backbone of security, used for encryption, authentication, signing, and other security applications. Poor-quality random keys or keys delivered at low speed form a weak link in the security chain, making data more vulnerable to attack. QuintessenceLabs’ Quantum Random Number Generator measures quantum noise at high speed, and delivers a record 1Gb/s of true random bits for commercial applications, fully addressing this challenge.
“PKWARE’s encryption and key management software, combined with QuintessenceLabs’ quantum cyber security products, provide our clients with powerful encryption that cannot be broken through computational power,” said Matt Little, vice president of product development at PKWARE. “As we expand our product offerings with updates to the Smartcrypt product suite, we believe this partnership offers strong support for our business and provides essential security for the growing number of increasingly sophisticated security threats.”
“QuintessenceLabs combines deep knowledge of quantum science with cutting-edge key and policy management expertise to create the strongest possible cybersecurity products, increasing ROI from existing assets and reducing data security management complexities,” said Mark Crowley, president of QuintessenceLabs Inc. and COO of parent company QuintessenceLabs Pty. “Our partnership with PKWARE will enhance the strength of our offerings through the introduction of smart encryption capabilities.”
This solution is expected to benefit organizations struggling to stay ahead of the seemingly never ending escalation of attacks, both in federal and commercial sectors. The system validation product is available now and the integrated solution is expected to be available in 2017.
PKWARE and QuintessenceLabs are gold sponsors of Cognitio’s Synergy Forum 2016, an industry conference focused on technology trends, innovation and their impact on cybersecurity. The event will take place on October 4, 2016 at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C. Joe Sturonas, CTO at PKWARE and Mark Crowley, president at QuintessenceLabs Inc., will be making a joint presentation providing details on the partnership and integrated solution.
